Karnataka Government has decided to cut down academic curriculum or syllabus for the year 2020-21.

Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Suresh Kumar confirmed that the syllabus would be trimmed for the upcoming academic year.The minister speaking to the media confirmed that he had asked the department to prepare an urgent action plan for the possible omission of excess chapters in textbooks of all classes due to coronavirus crisis and also told that, he had instructed the Department of State Education Research and Training (DSERT) and textbook committee to submit a report within 15 days after study and meeting over possible action plan to be taken to reduce the syllabus.

It further added, there will one addition to the curriculum, where the current COVID-19 pandemic will be implemented as one of the topics. The students will also have to take an examination at the end of the year while all teacher-training modules will also have a module on coronavirus as the education system will undergo a huge change after the pandemic.
