Severe heatwave conditions have been observed in some isolated pockets over eight states in India.The increasing temperature has been observed in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Delhi. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the heatwave conditions were to reach the peak intensity on 26 May 2020, on the Eastern side of India. Delhi had recorded its maximum temperature of 46 degrees celsius on 25 May. The heatwave would be calculated when the maximum temperature in the larger area reaches 45 degrees celsius for two consecutive days, and a severe heatwave would be calculated when the temperature reaches the 47 degrees-mark for two consecutive days.
