Mahanagar Media Network announced to its employees that it has closed down operations of the printing and publishing of Tamara Mahanagar.The Bhadas 4 Media, an Indian media news portal had published a notice by the Mahanagar Media Network Pvt Ltd addressed to its employees that it would be closing its publication Hamara Mahanagar, a Hindi daily on 18 March 2020 due to poor business viability in the present market conditions and enhanced financial burden and other reasons.

Ms Suchitra Vijayan, Executive Director of The Polis Project, also tweeted that the Hindi newspaper Tamara Mahanagar was closed on 18 March 2020 due to poor business viability.
