Former Tamil Nadu CM Karunanidhi once referred to Indira Gandhi's injury-related bloodstains as that of period blood.

There is insufficient evidence to verify whether Karunanidhi made that comment about Indira Gandhi.

There is insufficient evidence to verify whether Karunanidhi made that comment about Indira Gandhi. When Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi visited Tamil Nadu in 1979, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) condemned the Emergency imposition and showed her black flags. It turned into a riot and they pelted stones at her, which may have resulted in her being injured. During the Emergency, most of DMK's activity was detained under the Maintenance of Internal Security Act (MISA). This created some tension between Karunanidhi's party and Indira Gandhi.

However, there is no substantial credible evidence to verify whether Karunanidhi allegedly commented on her possible injury or menstrual cycle. The references to it are found in the comment sections of news articles on Indira Gandhi and DMK.
