A report on 'Tobacco' released by the World Health Organisation (WHO) confirms that more than 7 million people die of tobacco use each year.According to the latest report provided by the WHO on 26 July 2019, tobacco kills more than 8 million (80,00,000) people each year in which 7 million (70,00,000) of those deaths are the result of direct tobacco use while around 1.2 million are the result of non-smokers being exposed to second-hand smoke.
