News reports confirm that the TTD has Rs 12,000 crore in FDs in various nationalised banks which earns an annual interest of 700 crores.As per the TTD's official books, cash deposits in both nationalised and private banks crossed ₹12,000 crores in April 2019. It has been pegged in the budget outlay for the 2020-2021 financial year that it will get Rs 706 crore as interest on its deposits while it earned 845 crores last year. The board has decided to park the money only in public sector banks and hence it is likely to get Rs 100 crore less in annual yield in the coming year.
