An Order issued by the Commissioner of Karnataka Health and Family Welfare confirms that Non-Resident Indians have to bear the quarantine charges.The Order dated 2 May 2020 said that international passengers coming to Karnataka are being categorized into A, B and C groups depending on their symptoms and co-morbid conditions. The demands by category B & C type passengers have been approved to provide accommodation in star hotels on payment basis. Further, they will be given a choice of staying in star hotels at their own cost. The news report quoted Health commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey as saying that the returnees will pay their hotel bills.

The Public TV article tagged in the tweet itself has reported that the government would decide on the charges levied from the people staying in star hotels as a quarantine measure. It further stated that the occupants must bear the charges themselves.
