The Gupkar alliance has won big in the local elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the recent reports, the seven-party Gupkar alliance led by Farooq Abdullah has won 100 seats and was leading in 12 others. BJP has won more than 70 seats and emerged as the single largest party. BJP bagged many seats in the Jammu division while the PAGD, which includes the regional National Conference (NC) and the People's Democratic Party (PDP), was far ahead in Kashmir. Both BJP and Gupkar alliance claimed the poll victory as a sign of vindictiveness.
