Dick Costolo, Twitter's former CEO, says that entrepreneurs who refuse political activism should be first shot against the wall in a revolution. On October 1, 2020, Former Twitter CEO Dick Costolo had tweeted that "Me-First Capitalists" who thought they could separate business from political activism should be the first to be lined up against the wall and shot in a revolution. The tweet was posted after Brian Armstrong, the CEO of the cryptocurrency firm Coinbase, told employees to refrain from political activism and social justice within the company. The tweet came in the midst of an ongoing debate about whether companies should actively promote social justice causes and encourage political conversations at work.

Costolo accused Armstrong of wanting to “separate society from business.” He later deleted the tweet.
