Further, the news reports suggested that the Wimbledon organizers are set to receive insurance amount of $141 million payouts after the coronavirus pandemic led to the cancellation of the tournament. The AELTC had opted for pandemic insurance for 17 years at a cost of roughly $2 million per year. The outgoing chief executive of Wimbledon Richard Lewis confirmed that they are fortunate to have the insurance and it should help in managing the losses.
