The special force would have powers to search or arrest a person without magistrate orders or warrant. It would give security to important government buildings, offices, and industrial establishments. The Uttar Pradesh Special Security Force (UPSSF) will operate under a separate Act, and five battalions will be constituted at the initial stage.
