There is a downward trend in daily COVID-19 infections, with the country reporting less than two lakh cases for the sixth day in a row. On May 28, 1,86,364 new cases were recorded, on May 29, 1,73,790 new cases were recorded, on May 30, 1,65,553 new cases were recorded, on May 31, 1,52,734 new cases were recorded and on June 1, 1,27,510 new cases were recorded.

Since the pandemic began, 17.11 crore COVID-19 cases have been reported worldwide, with 35.64 lakh deaths up to June 2, NDTV reports. After setting an ambitious target of vaccinating the entire country by the end of this year, the center is attempting to speed up the vaccination program. The Indian government canceled the CBSE board exams for Class XII. The student-friendly decision was taken after extensive discussions, tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 02.

As of June 7, India recorded 1,00,636 new COVID-19 cases.
