Articles by the University of Delaware and Fox News prove that Project Recover has found three World War II U.S. aircraft in the Pacific Ocean. The publication on the University of Delaware website reported that three U.S. aircraft, missing from World War II had been found by the Project Recover team from Chuuk Lagoon, a sheltered body of water in the central Pacific.

The aircraft - two SBD-5 Dauntless dive bombers and one TBM/F-1 Avenger torpedo bomber had flown from the aircraft carriers USS Enterprise and USS Intrepid and went missing in 1944.

It added that the members from the University of Delaware and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography (University of California) were part of the activity to locate the aircraft.

An article published by Fox News confirms the same and also adds that those aircraft were part of the Operation Hailstone against Japanese forces in February 1944.
