Sushant Singh's death is currently being investigated by the CBI and the Mumbai police. As of now nothing conclusive regarding the case is revealed.Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. Several angles surrounding the death of Sushant Singh Rajput are being probed by CBI, ED, and NCB, concurrently. The Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) arrested Rhea Chakraborty, the prime accused in the drug link case, and stated that she is an active drug syndicate member. Meanwhile, Rhea's leaked WhatsApp chats accessed by the news media mentioned MDMA and the mixing of psychotropic drugs in Sushant's food and beverages.

However, the Mumbai High Court, on October 7, 2020, granted her bail stating that Rhea was not involved in having financed or harbored illicit drug trafficking as alleged by the central agency. The court also observed that she did not have any criminal antecedents, and it was unlikely that she could affect the probe or tamper with evidence while out on bail. The bail was put forth with stringent conditions on appearing before Mumbai Police for ten days and before the NCB once in a month for the next six months.

It is also speculated that the CBI is about to complete its investigation and submit a closure report to a CBI court in Bihar. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Forensic Medical Board submitted the autopsy reports of Sushant to the agency, ruling out murder theories to the actor's cause of death.

There are no official statements issued by the CBI agency as it is actively investigating the matter, and they have not arrived at any conclusion in the case.
