Trinamool Congress workers attacked Bhartiya Janata Party MP Dilip Ghosh in Sitalkuchi, West Bengal.

An investigation by the Election Commission of India is underway to determine if TMC workers attacked BJP chief Dilip Gosh.

An investigation by the Election Commission of India is underway to determine if TMC workers attacked BJP chief Dilip Gosh.On April 7, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) chief Dilip Ghosh alleged that Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers attacked his car with bombs and bricks in the Cooch Behar district of West Bengal. Ghosh added that the workers smashed his car's window glasses, including the one on his side. According to him, the TMC party's flag held by the attackers indicated that the miscreants belonged to the ruling party led by Mamata Banerjee. The BJP submitted a complaint to the Election Commission against the TMC administration. In his complaint, Ghosh alleged that Banerjee "instigated" her party members, leading them to attack Ghosh's vehicle. Protesting against the attack, BJP workers gathered outside the Jadavar police station on April 8. The party demanded the Election Commission to reprimand the TMC attackers and take action under the IPC and the Arms Act.

Although TMC spokesman Kunal Ghosh claimed that the ruling party was not involved in the attack, the Election Commission has directed the West Bengal administration to submit a report over the alleged attack. There is no evidence to verify if TMC workers were responsible for the incident.
