Goa CM Pramod Sawant referred to getting access to government jobs while speaking at the launch of the 'Swayampurna Mitra' initiative.
According to a Financial Express report, Sawant launched the BJP government's ambitious ‘Swayampurna Mitra’ outreach initiative. Gazetted government officers are expected to visit village panchayats and audits the state government schemes' ground-level implementation.
He stressed that people need to become Swayampurna (self-reliant) and that the ‘unemployed households should also have an income of around Rs 8,000 to Rs10,000’.
He further said that there are so many jobs that outsiders come to Goa and get cracking on. ‘The government’s Swayampurna Mitras will also co-ordinate these chores like arranging for suitable minor jobs for the rural unemployed,’ he said.
He also said that he is sad to see people still do not have toilets and employment. According to a TOI report, Sawant stressed the need to coordinate with the private sector and provide jobs to people who have crossed X and XII.
Correction- The claim was judged to be Partly True. However, this has been rectified to be True as the CM did make the above statement.
