Mumbai Police launched an investigation into the manipulation of TV ratings.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, in a press meet, confirmed that four people were arrested in relation to the TRP manipulation case.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, in a press meet, confirmed that four people were arrested in relation to the TRP manipulation case.On the October 8 press meet, Param Bir Singh told reporters that two persons, owners of two Marathi channels and two former employees of Hansa, an Agency associated with the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), have been arrested. Further, he also said that three channels, including Republic TV, were involved in the TRP racket, and bank accounts of these channels were also being examined.

On October 9, 2020, all four persons accused of the TRP racket were sent to police custody.
