A former Nazi concentration camp guard was convicted of 5,230 counts of accessory to murder and was given a two-year suspended sentence. The trial started in October 2019 and proceedings continued despite the onset of the pandemic. Bruno Dey, a 93-year-old former Nazi concentration camp guard, was found guilty of 5,230 counts of accessory to murder, one for each person believed to have been killed in the Stutthof concentration camp in Poland, when he was a guard there. He served as a guard from August 1944 to April 1945. He was tried in juvenile court as he was 17 at the time. He was given a two-year suspended sentence, which has been criticized by survivors and lawyers as being too lenient.
