
The Washington Post has recorded more than 25,000 false or misleading claims made by Donald Trump since he took office.
The Washington Post's Fact Checker feature has been tracking Trump's claims, starting in Trump's first 100 days in office. After going through all of Trump's statements, TV appearances, press conferences, campaign rallies, and social media, it found that in 1,386 days, Trump has made 29,508 false or misleading claims.
The Natural Resources Defense Council has also exposed Trump's misleading statements on climate, energy, and other environmental issues. Nearly 65 percent of Trump's lies were self-serving, while less than 10 percent of Trump's lies were told to advantage, flatter, or protect someone else, and 50 percent of Trump's lies were categorized as hurtful or depreciating. They have not revealed the number of false claims made by the President.
