Pro-Palestinian protests demanding freedom for Palestine were witnessed in Rahul Gandhi's constituency, Wayanad, Kerala.

The protest supporting Palestine took place in Qatar's Doha and not in Kerala's Wayanad. This incident was shared online with a false narrative.A 30-second clip involving a group of people chanting pro-Palestine slogans in Malayalam is widely shared on social media claiming that it was filmed in Wayanad, Kerala. Rahul Gandhi is the current Parliamentarian from the constituency. The video is shared in the backdrop of the violent conflict between Israel and Palestine, which resulted in several deaths.

However, we found that the viral video is actually taken from a protest at Imam Abdul Wahhab Mosque in Qatar’s Doha on May 15, 2021.

The video was posted on Youtube by GulfMalayaly, describing it as a protest in Qatar and mentioned that thousands of Malayalis expressed their solidarity with Palestinians. They were seen waving the flags of Palestine and chanting anti-Israel slogans. Qatar Tribune and 'Qatar Living' also posted the same visuals. We could spot the same mosque in all three videos, as shown in the viral video.

It is clear that a false claim is made by using the video clip of the protest that took place in Qatar.
