Former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore on August 1, 2020, due to Kidney ailment.Amar Singh was the general secretary of the Samajwadi Party and was elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha on July 5, 2016, from Uttar Pradesh as an independent member. In March 2020, Singh was shifted to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore due to kidney-related illness, and he passed away on August 1, 2020. He was cremated in Delhi on August 3, 2020.
