The United States President Donald Trump has given his tax returns, but the Treasury Department has not made them public.
The Justice Department, in a document dated 13 June 2019, stated that the denial by the treasury to reveal the President's tax returns did not violate the law. This confirms that President Trump has indeed filed his tax returns but has chosen not to make its contents public.
According to the CRS report on the US congress website, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has informed the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee that according to the advice of the Justice Department, he would not release the President's tax returns as the request lacked a legitimate legislative purpose.
