Bharath Biotech has found a vaccine for coronavirus, and it is getting released on August 15, 2020.

The ICMR had plans to release the vaccine on August 15, but the companies are in no rush to launch the vaccine as they want the vaccines to be safe.

The ICMR had plans to release the vaccine on August 15, but the companies are in no rush to launch the vaccine as they want the vaccines to be safe.Covaxin is India's indigenous vaccine for COVID-19 by Bharath Biotech, along with the collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Institute of Virology(NIV). ICMR had asked the Bharath Biotech to complete all clinical trials before August 15, so that it can be launched on that day as planned.

In a recent update reported by the Business Standard, the Chairman and Managing Director of Bharath Biotech, Mr. Krishna Ella, updated that the company had just entered Phase 2 of the clinical trials after spending 30 days on Phase 1. He also said that the company was under tremendous pressure to launch the vaccine. Considering the increased demand due to a steep rise in COVID-19 infections in the country, Bharath Biotech would not rush the launch, considering the safety and long-term effectiveness of the vaccine. The chairman also raised concerns that they could end up killing more people by rushing the vaccine due to its increased demand.

As per the last official update on their website, Bharath Biotech was still conducting the clinical trials of Covaxin, and there was no indication of when the vaccine would be launched. Thus, it can be concluded that Bharath Biotech's COVID-19 vaccine will not be launched in August 2020.
