The singer was identified as Vice Admiral Girish Luthra.An old video from 2018 showing an officer in the Indian Armed Forces' uniform singing a Hindi song is circulating on social media. It is claimed that the man in the said video is Air India pilot Deepak Vasant Sante, one of the two pilots who died in the Air India Express plane crash at Karipur Airport in Kozhikode on August 7, 2020. This is not true.

The video shows Vice Admiral Girish Luthra (Retd), who sang the song 'Ghar Se Nikalte Hi' on the occasion of the Indian Navy's Golden Jubilee after being formally established on March 1, 1968. This video also went viral on social media with a false claim that the officer in the video is Captain Deepak Sathe singing at Western Naval Command Golden Jubilee Celebrations.
