The head of Serco claimed that the coronavirus pandemic could be leveraged in 'cementing the position of private sector companies in the public sector supply chain.'

There is insufficient evidence to confirm whether Rupert Soames said, COVID-19 situation can be used to fix the position of private companies.

According to a Guardian report, an email of Rupert Soames, CEO of public service provider Serco, leaked in June 2020 said that Soames claimed that COVID-19 pandemic would be an opportunity for private companies to grow. The Guardian reported that Soames said private firms could fix their position in the public sector supply chain, leveraging COVID-19.
