Two potential Indian COVID-19 vaccine candidates are conducting human trials.

Bharath Biotech and Zydus Cadila have completed phase I and started Phase II trials on humans of their potential COVID-19 vaccines in India.

Bharath Biotech and Zydus Cadila have completed phase I and started Phase II trials on humans of their potential COVID-19 vaccines in India.On August 4, 2020, Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR), Balram Bhargava said in a press briefing that phase I human clinical trials of two potential COVID-19 vaccines developed by Bharath Biotech in collaboration with ICMR, and DNA vaccine of Zydus Cadila Ltd are completed and that Phase 2 trials were in progress. The inactivated virus vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech is the first to complete its Phase 1 trials in 11 sites. Zydus Cadila Ltd is the second candidate, and both have started phase 2 trials.
