The Indian government has denied that India is in the community transmission or 3rd stage of Covid-19.
On July 9, Union Health Minister, Dr. Harsha Vardhan, said there is no community transmission of Covid-19 in India. He added that in a few parts of the country, there could be a high number of locally spreading cases, but as a whole, it has not reached the 3rd stage of transmission. He further said that only 32 districts contributed 80% of the total deaths in the country, and 86% of the total deaths are concentrated in six states.
The COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a lot of potentially dangerous misinformation. For reliable advice on COVID-19 including symptoms, prevention and available treatment, please refer to the World Health Organisation or your national healthcare authority.
