Charco Neurotech is experimenting with a wearable vibration therapy device called CUE1 to ease Parkinson's symptoms of slowness and stiffness.Charco Neurotech, a UK-based tech startup, develops CUE1, a non-invasive medical device for people with Parkinson's disease. Charco describes CUE1 as a wearable device that can be hidden beneath clothing. It is attached to the body using removable medical adhesive patches that can be applied and removed as needed. CUE1 can be worn anywhere on the body, but Charco recommends wearing it on the sternum for the best symptom reduction.

In early user testing, Charco claims the device improved movement by an average of 16 percent among those with the condition, with testers noticing improvements in walking and fine motor functions. Charco also received £205,000 from the Imperial College London Innovation Fund in the United Kingdom.

Lucy Jung, CEO of Charco Neurotech, states, "We believe that CUE1 has the potential to significantly improve [Parkinson's disease] symptoms through its unique controlled vibration technology." She added, "We are excited to continue our work on the device and we look forward to the outcome of our proposed clinical trials."

Charco, on its website, states that CUE1 uses "vibratory stimulation to relieve the movement symptoms of Parkinson’s." The advanced device can alternatively be linked to an app, which provides a "symptom tracker" and some interactive games intended to measure movement.
