
Russia approved its vaccine, but WHO is yet to give it clearance. There is no confirmation on the availability of any COVID-19 vaccine by early 2021.
According to the World Health Organization, 26 experimental vaccines against the disease are under clinical evaluation, with six candidates moving into the final phase of testing. The DNA vaccine of Zydus Cadila has completed Phase 1 and will begin the Phase 2 trial. As of now, there is no specific antiviral drug or vaccine available yet for COVID-19.
The Russian Health Ministry has approved a vaccine as safe for distribution after only passing the phase 1 trials. The WHO has not recognized it as safe as of yet.
