
The Chicago government issued a new stay-at-home advisory, urging citizens to cancel "normal" Thanksgiving gatherings.
Lori Lightfoot, the Mayor of Chicago, announced a new strategy called "Protect Chicago" that includes new limits on gatherings with a few exceptions given to businesses. This comes as public health officials reported that, in 24 hours, there were 11,028 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the state of Illinois. Officials say that the city has reached a critical point in fighting the second wave of virus infection.
