A birthday cake was baked at the 100th-year celebration of Las Vegas city in 2005, which weighed 6.18 tonnes. If the record had been set is unclear.
Las Vegas's birthday cake was 102 feet long, approximately one-third of a football field, and stood 20 inches, roughly the height of seven stacked standard-size cakes. The cake's ingredients included 23,000 pounds of flour, 35,000 cups of sugar, and 130,000 eggs. The frosting, weighing roughly 34,000 pounds, was made using 42,000 cups of sugar, 10,200 cups of shortening, 5,200 cups of butter, and 5,200 cups of corn syrup.
The cake was kept on display at 2 p.m. on May 15, 2005, at Cashman Field; the public had been invited and asked to come hungry.
The organizers said they expected Guinness Book of Records officials to confirm their cake as the world’s largest; however, there has been no confirmation to show it had been included in the largest birthday cake category of Guinness Book.
