In Somasagar village, a farmer called Shekappa, while speaking about the condition of the roads, started shouting, after which Udasi pushed him.

On Nov. 23, 2020, BJP MP spoke to Public TV and clarified that when he had been to Bhoomi puja in one of the villages in Hanagal Taluk of Haveri District, the villager came to speak with him regarding the infrastructure. He said that he would get the four pending road repairs, but the farmer started speaking rudely. So in the heat of the moment, he pushed the farmer. He accepted while speaking t the channel that he was wrong in that moment.
