An elephant that died in Kerala was killed by Muslims.

An accused involved in the death of the elephant was arrested but there is no evidence available to show that Muslims were responsible for the crime.The Kerala Forest Department had said that it has arrested one person involved in the death of the pregnant elephant in the Palakkad district. Superintendent of Police, G Siva Vikram, said that a person who goes by the name Wilson has been arrested, and two others were absconding. All three men were identified as local dealers of explosives by the police. Earlier, there were reports which ascribed the death of the elephant to Muslims. However, there is no incriminating evidence available to show that members of the Muslim community carried out this cruel act.
