There is insufficient evidence to prove that the Indian Union Home Ministry had given permission to Tablighi Jamaat event held at New Delhi.A tweet by Jitendra Awhad had claimed that the Tablighi Jamaat event held at Delhi in March 2020 was allowed by the Union Home Ministry and not by the Delhi Police.

In the meantime, we found an article published by Swarajyamag which reported that no permission was sought by the Tablighi Jamaat organisers by the police. It quoted the Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) (Southeast) RP Meena saying that they issued a notice to the organisers after which the programme was stopped.

However, we could not find credible links to verify the claim that the Union Home Ministry permitted to hold the Jamaat event in Delhi.
