There is insufficient publicly available evidence at the current time to accurately verify this claim.Articles by Newsmakers Live and Oyogist, citing Twitter user @Nerdy_Dopey, state that the NCDC had gone to take the body into their custody from a family of a deceased COVID-19 patient in Ajah area of Lagos. His family refused to hand over the body to the officials, insisting on burying it by themselves in their traditional way, which was against the NCDC guidelines.

As of now, there is no official evidence regarding it by neither the NCDC nor the Nigerian government. Hence, the veracity of the claim cannot be proved.
