Seventeen-year-old Bangladeshi Sadat Rahman Shakib has won International Children's Peace Prize 2020 for his work in combating cyberbullying. The award was presented to Sadat on Nov. 13, 2020, by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai during a ceremony in the Netherlands. He was awarded the prize for his involvement in setting up his social organization and the mobile app 'Cyber Teens' to stop cyberbullying. The International Children's Peace Prize is an annual award initiated by KidsRights, the international children's rights organization based in Amsterdam. Of the 142 applicants from 42 countries, the KidsRights' Expert Committee selected Sadat from Bangladesh as a winner. By winning the award, he has achieved an international platform that empowers him to spread his message among a global audience, the organization said.

Sadat commenced his campaign after a 15-year-old girl killed herself after experiencing cyberbullying. The app has previously supported over three hundred cyberbullying victims and led to eight cybercrimes perpetrators' arrest. The app has reached over forty-five thousand teenagers with internet safety seminars in schools and colleges.
