Parliamentary sessions were attended by the Congress leaders during their party conferences. The monsoon session of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) was usually scheduled during mid-July. This year's CWC meeting was scheduled for August 24, 2020. The monsoon session of the Indian Parliament was postponed to September 10, 2020, due to a steep rise in COVID-19 cases in the country, including the national capital. This was further pushed forward for four days, and the monsoon session is set to begin on September 14. It is not yet revealed whether the session will be held daily or on alternate days.
The CWC is usually held after the monsoon session of the Parliament every year, with 2020 being an exception. Thus we can say the CWC and the parliament sessions do not coincide with one another. The Congress party members can attend the CWC as well as the parliament and the question of the party MPs skipping the parliament for the sake of the CWC did not arise.
