Elon Musk's brain-machine interface company, Neuralink, showed a wireless device that can cure blindness in the live demo held on August 28, 2020.In the demo, real-time neural signals from a pig named Gertrude was shown to the audience. According to Elon Musk, Gertrude had the coin seized wireless implant for about two months. Further, he stated that the device is designed with tiny flexible threads ten times thinner than a human hair to treat brain injuries and trauma. He also listed different conditions the brain implant can cure with a supporting device such as a bionic eye. He further added that people who get the Neuralink device would be left with a tiny scar after the electrodes are inserted in the brain.
