Mexico has decriminalized recreational marijuana.

Mexico's Supreme Court voted in favor of legalizing recreational marijuana for adults.

Mexico's Supreme Court voted in favor of legalizing recreational marijuana for adults. The order was passed by an 8–3 majority in the Supreme Court, which ruled that any adult can possess 28g of marijuana for private consumption.

The Supreme court had ruled that the prohibition of cannabis was unconstitutional in 2018. It was then referred to Congress, where it has been pending for a long time. The advocates had pushed for decriminalization to reduce the illegal drugs trade violence in the country.

The recent decision will require adults to take permission to cultivate and consume their own cannabis. The ruling also bans minors from consuming and engaging in dangerous activities.
