The High Court of Delhi will hear three pleas on same-sex marriage. On October 14, 2020, the High Court of Delhi asked the central and Dehli government stand on the legalization of same-sex marriage. The notice was issued in response to three separate pleas—one of which was submitted by two women, and one of which was submitted by two men.

The women were seeking to get married under the Special Marriage Act (SMA), pointing out that, because they cannot get married, they are being denied certain rights. The two men, who got married in New York, submitted a plea to register their wedding under the Foreign Marriage Act (FMA). The court will hear the pleas in February.
