A fake account claiming to be Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani has tweeted that Reliance is sponsoring solar power to Ayodhya's Ram temple.A fake tweet from an account @NitaAmabani (wrongly spelled Nita Ambani) made rounds on social media. The tweet posted on Jan 11, 2021, claims that Reliance has donated a solar power plant for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. The claim is fake.

The tweet has been sent out from an account claiming to be Nita Ambani, chairperson, and founder of the Reliance Foundation. The account name has spelled ‘Ambani’ as ‘Amabani.’ Also, the account has been created as recently as Sept. 2020 and has clearly been made to gain followers, as several Tweets by the account holder has promised follow-backs in lieu of retweets.

A report by Hindustan Times quotes Swami Govind Giri Maharaj, who is one of the15 members of newly-constituted Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra trust, as saying that the countrywide donation drive for Ram Temple would start from Jan.15, 2021, whereas the donation announcement, claiming to be from Nita Ambani was made on Jan. 11.

Also, according to the Quint, they spoke to a source close to Reliance, who falsified the claim and said, “if such a donation will be made, the group will announce it via official channels.”

Several people have come forth and have donated to construct the Ram temple in Ayodhya, including President Ram Nath Kovind. However, no such announcement has been made by Reliance. Therefore, the claim is false.
