The live telecast was viewed for more than seven billion minutes, which is a new record. The Prasar Bharati chief, Shashi Shekhar Vempati, said that the live telecast from Doordarshan channel was picked up by the other two hundred television channels to show live coverage of the main event between 10:45 am to 2:00 pm when Prime Minister Narendra Modi performed the groundbreaking ceremony.
