In a Facebook post, Director Kamaleshwar Mukherjee stated that Friedrich Dürrenmatt's novel ''A Dangerous Game'' inspired the film Anusandhan. On March 24, 2021, the trailer of the upcoming film Anusandhan, directed by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee and produced by Eskay Movies in Bengali, was released. The film, which stars Saswata Chatterjee, Churni Ganguly, and Joydeep Mukherjee, was inspired by authors such as Edgar Wallace, Guy de Maupassant, and Friedrich Dürrenmatt. Near the end of the teaser, around 2.04 minutes into the video, the author's names are mentioned.

Sujatha Chowdhary, a Film and Television Institute alumni and owner of the 'Boho Bioscope' screenwriting firm, said that Kamaleshwar's Anusandhan was the storyline of her film Jalsaghar. Padmanabha Dasgupta, the scriptwriter, and Kamleshwar Mukherjee, the director, were accused of stealing the plot.

Sujata said in a Facebook post that she contacted Padmanabha to create a screenplay after graduating from college in 2016. Padmanabha told her about Frederick Durenmat's "A Dangerous Game" at the time, and they agreed to collaborate on it. 'Jalsaghar' is the title of the picture.

Sujata saw the trailer for the film 'Chehre.' Sujata is concerned that Amitabh Bachchan, Imran Hashmi's movie, is also based on the same storyline. However, Sujata learned from Zurich that the copyright to 'A Dangerous Game' had not yet been sold. Sujata claims a slight twist in the screenplay of 'Jalsaghar.'

Sujata also posted screenshots of WhatsApp chats on Facebook as proof of her claim. She included a copy of the screenplay she submitted to the screenwriters' organization in 2019, a copy of the contract signed by her wife Lopamudra Dasgupta on behalf of Padmanabhan. Kamleshwar has disputed all of the allegations.

Kamaleshwar has posted on his Facebook that the story was inspired by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, Guy de Maupassant, and Edgar Wallace's writings. In the post, he responded to the allegations of a coping Bollywood movie starring Amitabh and Imran called 'Chehre.' Even Chehre has a similar story to Anusandhan and Jolshaghor as claimed by Sujata Chowdhury. He said the story of his film is based on "A Dangerous Game." He said that he was part of a drama based on the same plotline about three years ago.

The Hindustan Times report Kamaleshwar had denied the allegation made by Sujatha and told her he wrote the screenplay for his movie. In an interview, Kamleshwar said, ''There is no point in speculating about the story behind the release of a picture. The screenplay of my film is completely different'' reports HT.
