The school had some of the class 12 students write their exams outside the examination hall, but whether it was based on religion cannot be verified.Bengali Higher Secondary School in Indore made 40 students attend the class 12 final exam outside the hall on 10 June 2020. The students were from Islamia Karimiya Girls Higher Secondary School (IKGHSS). Parents of the students alleged that the school authorities made the students sit outside the hall because they were from the Muslim community. They have registered complaints based on religious discrimination.

Later, The school authorities and the District Educational Officer (DEO) denied the reports and mentioned that the seating arrangement was based on the COVID-19 protocol and not on a religious basis. The DEO said that the school authorities made the seating arrangements based on roll numbers, and they were unaware of the students' identities, including names.

As of now, it is not possible to objectively verify whether the seating arrangements were based on religion.
