The portrait of Jawaharlal Nehru has been digitally altered and shared with a false narrative.A viral image on social media shows a picture of the former Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru hanging on the wall during PM Narendra Modi's meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on May 2, 2022. The post's caption reads, "Nehru trying to prevent Modi from working in Germany." However, the image is has been digitally altered.

Through a reverse image search, we found the original image on Modi's official Facebook page posted on May 3, 2022. The original image does not have the portrait of Nehru. On May 2, PMO India's official Twitter handle also posted an image from the meeting, where it's evident that the original photograph doesn't show Nehru's portrait hanging on the wall.

According to The Hindu, PM Modi embarked on a three-day, three-nation European tour on May 2, 2022. During the Indian PM and Scholz meeting, both the leaders discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation under the comprehensive strategic partnership and regional and global developments.

The viral image has been altered and shared with a false narrative, hence we are marking this claim as false.
