In an interview with a news portal in 2016, Devgn revealed that he maintains good relations with Narendra Modi, even before he was sworn in as a PM.

In an interview with a news portal in 2016, Devgn revealed that he maintains good relations with Narendra Modi, even before he was sworn in as a PM. Indian actor and producer Ajay Devgn in an interview in 2016, told India Today that he had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi several times when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. However, the number of meetings reduced after Modi was sworn-in as the PM.

"I really like Modi as a person. But if you notice, I've hardly been able to meet Modi after he became the Prime Minister. I used to meet him more back when he was the chief minister of Gujarat", an India Today report quoted Devgn as saying.

The actor also revealed the reason behind not meeting Modi often anymore, saying that he doesn’t want people to attach any motives to his meetings with the PM.

Modi’s official website also mentions that Devgn visited Modi while promoting his movie Rajniti in June 2010 and also announced his shared his intention of investing in the state’s solar power sector.

Devgn made headlines recently after he tweeted in response to international singer Rihana’s Tweet on farmer stir in India. Devgn urged his followers, not to fall prey to any false propaganda against India or its policies. “It is important to stand united at this hour w/o any infighting,” he said.
