A standard review process has been triggered, leading to the voluntary pause of vaccination across all trials to allow the safety measure that occurred in a single event of unexplained illness in the UK Phase III trial.

The Serum Institute of India, Oxford University, and the AstraZeneca were jointly conducting trials for the vaccine 'AZD1222'.
