The environment ministry has stated that primary investigations indicate that the elephant may have been accidentally killed in Palakkad, Kerala.Kerala forest minister K Raju said that the elephant had died in Palakkad district on 27 May 2020, after it ate a pineapple stuffed filled with crackers. Forest officials said that it died standing in river Velliyar after it suffered an injury in its lower jaw. He said that one person had been arrested for the death of the pregnant elephant.
Primary investigation has revealed that the elephant may have accidentally consumed the cracker-stuffed pineapple.
